Every week the kids get to check out books from the school library. Kenni gets to check out one and both Laura and James get to check out two because they are older. At the beginning of the year we had to sign a contract promising we would take care of the books and keep them in a safe place. It's really hard to keep track of all the different books but so far we have been doing really good. That is until this week.
The boys' library day is on Wednesday. So last Wednesday they brought home their new books for the week and we keep them on top of the microwave when they are not reading them. Well, Saturday night our microwave over heated so I moved the books to the hutch in the dining room. Monday morning we got home from bringing the kids to school and the books were now on the floor in the dining room. Either they fell or most likely the cats knocked them over. I had some things to put away then I was going to go back and pick up the books. In the mean time Maddi had done it for me. She gave me the books and I put them back on the microwave but this time their was a book missing. It was one of Gucker's. The boxcar Children: Mystery of the Hidden Beach. When he got home from school I asked him if he had seen it. Of course he hadn't. The next few days we totally searched this house top to bottom and no book! Today I was in the kitchen and turn around and Maddi had the book! All day today she has been wearing a little backpack and I'm assuming that is where she put it to begin with and where she got it out of!
