Elk Burger

Recently we made some new friends, Mike and Becky. Their daughter Samantha is in Kenni's class. Only a short couple of months ago did we fine out that they live right around the corner from us. Now that our families have become great friends together, they are moving out of state!
A few weeks back Maddi and I were over at Mike and Becky's for lunch and Mike made us elk burgers. Inside the burger he put cream cheese. It was THE BEST burger I have ever had in my life! It was SO JUICY and when you bit into it, it popped and the juices were flowin! I came home and was ranting and raving about this burger to James. We actually had some elk in our freezer from a friend of his so I tired to recreate the magic. I totally and completely failed.
I told Mike that I was mad at him for moving but if he made me an elk burger before he left I wouldn't be so mad. Last night we went over there for dinner and he made elk burgers. This time Mike even made then more delicious by adding bacon bits in with the cream cheese. James was very leery about the burgers and didn't believe me how awesome they were until he bit into his. His didn't have the POP but it was still juicy and very tasty. When I bit into mine on the other hand boy did it POP! Becky and Mike were sitting across the room from me and they heard it! It was pure bliss!!!!! They sent home a burger with me and I ate it for breakfast this morning! I was kind of nervous that it wasn't going to be as good warmed up in the microwave but it was still absolutely wonderful! Super juicy and it even popped!!!!
Now I have just a short time left before they move to learn the art of making an elk burger or I may have to travel a long way just for a good burger! It would totally be worth it though!
The burger before

The burger after I bit into it. Just look at all that yummy cream cheese and bacon bits spilling out!!!!
