This summer we were fortunate enough to be able to take a mini vacation. It was a last minute decision, as is everything in the Ozbirn household. James had brought up going up north to Flagstaff or Prescott but I convinced him to drive a little further to St. George Utah to see the Fulfords. Since neither of our vehicles would make it, a good friend of ours let us use his Yukon, so we even got to ride in style!!! Since we weren't in our vehicle there was no eating or drinking anything but water. So what was supposed to be just under an 8 hour trip took us 10 1/2. The kids did awesome in the car and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. I will refrain from posing my landscape pictures because James says all mountains look the same.

It was Dakota's 14th birthday while we were there so we went bowling. The kids have been before but towards the end of the night it turned into "glow" bowling. They fired up the black lights and cranked up the jams and the kids had dance party USA!

We also, of course, had to visit The Sportsman's Warehouse. Now in retaliation to James thinking all mountains look the same...All Sportman's Warehouses look the same!

We were also able to be in St. Goerge for the 4th of July. As if it weren't hot enough....I thought it would be fun to roast marshmallows! Mike wasn't feeling well that day and by the end of night I made it even worse....

Since the Fulford's neighborhood is the ultimate neighborhood, my kids pretty much did not come in teh house the enitre time. This is James' feet at the end of the day!

Of course the cute couple......

Utah passed a law this year that allowed regular people to do some pretty neat fireworks. Since my hubby is a firework fanatic, we just had to get fireworks. Also since my hubby is Mr. Shy Guy, I had to end up lighting them because there was a crowd of people outside that might actually see him. Everything was going well until the very last firework. The thing tipped over and shot at the neighbor's hedges and caught the thing on fire! I'm talking flames! Fortunately the neighbor was very nice and understood that we were from out of state and got a little firework crazy :)

Well after I set the neighborhood on fire Becky and I had to get a picture together because we were leaving the next day.

We got up in the middle of the night (about 2 or 3 am) and headed home. Since we were going to be driving right by Vegas we decided to just take a stroll down the strip. I do have to say that was the the most interesting and scary stroll I have ever taken! The buildings and lights were incredible but that wasn't to say for the people we saw! I guess maybe there might not have been so many crazies if it wasn't 4am.
We also drove over the Hoover Dam and I was SUPER disapointed. This year they opened a new bridge to drive over to save time. You coudln't even see the dam at all! We later found out that there is still an exit to drive over the dam but we were too tired on the way home to do it.
So over all our last minute mini vacation was a blast! I'm not too sure the Fulford's felt the same way after we left though ;)
