Our Baby is No Longer a Baby

This past weekend was Maddi's 2nd birthday. She has been going all around singing Happy Birthday to herself and blowing out pretend candles for weeks now. Saturday she got to blow out candles for real and was so excited. Greg and Laurel invited us over for lunch and swimming and Laurel had made a whole birthday celebration for Maddi. We walked in the house and there were balloons galore! All the kids had such a blast hitting them at each other and just throwing the balloons all around. Oma and Opa were able to make the trip down and join in on the celebration too. We had a great lunch then enjoyed some yummy chocolate (Maddi's favorite) cake. Greg and Laurel got Maddi a baby doll with long brown braided hair and brown eyes. Maddi couldn't part with it! Oma and Opa got her her very own crayons and coloring book and a whole bag of suckers. When Maddi was only a little peanut, Oma decided it was time for Maddi's 1st sucker all her own so I thought the suckers were very appropriate.

Sunday we had our family birthday celebration. Maddi had another chocolate cake and opened her presents from us the ones Aunt Tam and Grandad mailed to her. I let her open her cards she got as she got them in the mail but I made her save her presents to open on her birthday. Her favorite presents from that day were her Princess Sippy cups we got her, her white church shoes from Grandad and Mary Lew, and her Sleepy time Dora Doll from Aunt Tam, Uncle Dave and Ally.

Thanks to everyone for making her birthday so special!
