Here we go!

I guess I can't complain because over all the last 6 months we have been fairly healthy but I'm afraid our good health has run out. We had our sick spell last week and I was hoping that would be the end of it but I was wrong. Maddi was fine Monday morning but all afternoon she was SUPER CRABBY! Tuesday she was again SUPER CRABBY and was running a fever. She ran a fever all night last night so this morning I just took her to urgent care. From the start she was telling me that she was not going in there. She went in but was not a co-operative patient at all. Therefore the Dr couldn't really get a good look at her. He did get a peek at her throat as she was screaming. From the looks of her throat and what I was describing to him he decided she has some sort of bacterial infection and it's most likely a sinus infection. He gave a us a prescription and we were on our way. Maddi then was insistent that she was not taking medicine. So after much pleading I just had enough and had to force her to take it. She was not happy with me! I have been all along trying to get her to take motrin and she has been refusing. She kept complaining of her head hurting so I tole her she was going to have to take motrin and she could either just take it or I could get he squirter and make her take it. She wasn't happy but did decide to take it. She is now up off the couch and semi back to Maddi.

When Laura got home from school yesterday she was complaining that she was freezing and she thought she had a fever. Sure enough she did! I gave her some medicine and sent her to lay down. After a couple of hours she was feeling fine again and running around like nothing was wrong. She woke up this morning and said she was cold but only because it was cold in the house. She swore she felt fine. I kept asking her if she was sure and she insisted she was fine. Today was her gift exchange with her kinder-buddy (kinder-buddies is a program in school where every Thursday the 3rd graders and kindergartners work together on reading a such) friend at school. I knew the reason she wanted to go to school so bad was so she could do her gift exchange. Any other time she would have been jumping at the chance to stay home! She stayed at school all day but she said she was cold all day and her teacher just let her put her head down. She has a fever again and so I gave her more motrin and she is now laying on the couch watching tv. So I'm sure I will have to take her to the Dr too! I know she will want to go to school tomorrow though because it's the last day before break and they get to have a Christmas party. It's only a half day tomorrow too and the kids love half days!
