Holiday Concert 2009

Last night was kids' holiday concert at school. After a crazy afternoon of after school clubs, homework, and dinner we made it to the concert. Laura hated her hair and then didn't want to go because she was nervous to be in front of all the people. Kenni hated his shirt and every one was giving him a headache. Little Man didn't want to go but James told him that his Mom always made him go to his concerts even though he didn't want to go so Little Man had to go.
It was a super packed parking lot but we got alright seats. We couldn't get any pictures to turn out so I don't have any.
We could see Kenni except for the fact the music teacher stood right smack dab in front of the kids and blocked them all. Kenni just stood there with a terrified look on his face but never cried! 1st his grade did a little dance to a mix of jammin' holiday songs, then a cute little song called 5 little snowmen fat.
James was next and we couldn't see him at all because the music teacher had him standing behind someone that was way taller than him and then the lady playing the piano had her sheet music stand right in the way of him. His class sang Rudolph and Jingle Bells. The music teacher just had them stand there a sing though. Not even the versions with the extra words in it. Just the plain old boring songs with no hand movements or nothing.
The 2nd graders went next then there was an intermission and then we got to hear Laura. She got over her nerves and and she sung loud and proud. We could even see her clearly! Still no pictures though. Her class sung Frosty and Santa Clause in Coming to Town. We were really supposed to wait until the end of the concert to leave but instead I just snatched Laura up when she was done and we got out of there!
It was the first time this school has done a concert so it wasn't very organized and they had to have it at another school since the kids are still at the temp campus with no auditorium. So I guess it was good for what they had to work with. The kids all did an awesome job and we are very proud of them all!
