Saturday morning we were invited by Greg and Laurel to go pick peaches at Schenpf Farms. We got up early and headed up to the Farm before it got hot. We hitched a ride on the back of a John Deere tractor out to the orchard. Kenni was so excited about the tractor being a John Deere. Grandad has one to mow his lawn and he and the boys talk about riding it together. Maddi was really quite on Daddy's lap riding out to the orchard. On the way back she cried when we got on and said "I no like it!" We collectively picked two boxes of peaches and Laurel found the Peach of the Day! The kids were smart and took their turns on Mikey's shoulders to get the peaches up high. When we got home a lot of our peaches had already bruised and started to bust open and juice. James, being the expert canner he is, canned 7 jars of peaches all without any help! The rest of the peaches that weren't bruised he left for us to eat and Greg had an alternative motive for asking us to go . He wants a peach cobbler out of the deal. I've never made a peach cobbler but it is on my agenda in the next couple of days. We all had a great time and it was a great experience! Thanks Greg and Laurel for inviting us!

What a great family picture!
ReplyDeleteI love the family picture! You should frame that one with all 6 of you! We rarely get to see a picture of the whole family together.
